Camping Areas

You may camp anywhere in the areas marked Guest Camping ie. anywhere to the LEFT of the Oak avenue that cuts through the middle of the site - Crew ONLY may camp on to the RIGHT of the Oak Avenue

We have a huge new area for general camping - last year it was only for RVs but this anyone can use it

Crew: you can camp in the general camping area if you want to be with non-crew friends - but party guests must not camp in the Crew Area

Cars can come on site to drop equipment
(we log your vehicle reg & mobile on your Vehicle Registration Card)

  • Talk to one of the stewards and ask where to camp
  • find your spot
  • drop your gear off as quickly as you can - don't set up camp yet
While dropping off don't walk away from your car to say Hi to friends
  • Move your car to the car park - it only takes 5 mins to walk back
  • Now you can take as much time as you like to set up camp

HELP US TO KEEP THE SITE AS CLEAR OF CARS AS POSSIBLE
- please work with us not against us!

Keep access ways clear and never drive at more than 5mph

Only average sized live-in vehicles with a Camper Van Pass will be allowed in the main area and may camp in general guest camping areas alongside mates in tents

If your Camper Van is really a Lorry/Horsebox/Showman's Caravan/Large RV etc. you will be directed to the Large RV area

Do not drive on site at all after dark
This is a license requirement to do with safety and emergency access

If the ground is wet We may instruct the stewards to park vehicles in a different car park

KIDS

You will be asked to complete an under 18's registration form at reception. They'll be issued with a wristband on which must be written their legal guardian's mobile number

CASH & Credit Cards

There are no cash machines on site but (depending on mobile signal) we will try to run a credit card chip & pin cash bank at the site office on Saturday and Sunday between 14:00 - 16:00
Best to ensure you have enough cash so that you don't run out!

SOUND POLICY

Be respectful of other guests & sensitive to local residents
Observe the campsite curfew between 11pm & 10am
We'll be working closely with the council monitoring team to keep everyone happy
One or two areas will have a later license

CAMPING

Camping areas are marked. Don't camp or park in the access lanes or pitch tents too close together in case the emergency services need access.
CAMPING UNDER TREES IS DANGEROUS & ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK
LEAVE a 3m gap from TREE TRUNKS
Please be very careful where you camp in case an old limb falls off . . . the tree that is!

CAMP FIRES

If you want a fire by your camp you MUST use a fire dish!
NB: The Park around Stamford Hall is a is site of 'special scientific interest' and as such is subject to rigid conditions concerning fires
We must not leave a trace of ash, or singed grass, or digging or litter - we must leave the park exactly as we find it
Firewood will be available at around £5 per bag - look for Conway who'll be riding around with a quad & trailer
He'll also be selling selling low-cost fire baskets

SUSTAINABILITY - RECYCLING & RUBBISH

Stanford Hall take sustainability and recycling very seriously; they have a huge permaculture farm producing veg boxes for the local community, have installed composting loos at various points on the site and compost all food waste

if you'd like to download their impressive 'sustainability charter'

The main points are:

  • NO SINGLE USE PLASTICS
  • Bring your own water bottle - the water from the standpipes is high quality drinking water - tested & certified
  • Bring your own cup for the bar (corn starch cups will be available - but you'll need to pay a deposit)
  • Use the glass and food waste recycling bins
  • Use the skips for all other waste - 97% of which will be sorted and recycled
  • Take home as much of your own rubbish as possible

Please be VERY conscientious with all litter, especially ring-pulls from cans (which can cause terrible harm to the cattle and horses). Don't drop fag butts - if you smoke bring a portable ashtray. Designate one person from your camp to oversee litter and be responsible for checking the area when you pack up.

Take any bin bags that you can't take with you to the skips before you leave please

LEAVE NO TRACE - PLEASE LEAVE YOUR AREA SPOTLESSLY CLEAN

FIRE SAFETY

  • Get out - Stay out - Alert Security, Site office or Paramedics.
  • Stay calm - move quickly - get everyone out and clear from the area.
  • In the camp; ensure that tents, campers or caravans are kept at least 3 metres apart.
  • Extinguishers: at the Site Office, at the traders & caterers stalls and by the ambulance.
  • Be very aware of how dangerous a tent fire can be

SECURITY

Simon and his team are in touch with us by walkie-talkie. Please contact them if you have any problems. Take care of your stuff and make sure you lock valuables safely away.

FIRST AID

An ambulance will beon site. Watch out for guy ropes & tent pegs - these are always the main problems - remember YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for your own well being.

Obviously - we don't tolerate illegal substances or the consumption of excess alcohol - THIS INCLUDES BALLOONS (which will be confiscated if we see or hear them)

Please drink responsibly and don't leave ANYTHING AT ALL lying about - This is especially important with kids and teenagers present

Hot tubs & Saunas are sited on the banks of the lake. BRING A SWIMMING COSTUME

SWIMMING

Swimming in the lake or river is ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
As far as we're concerned we don't recommend it or support it - and certainly not for children

SITE OFFICE

is always a good place to pop into if you have any questions

LOST PROPERTY

The Lost Property tent is near the site office. Details will be written in a book with the finders mobile number.
We will actively try to reunite folk with their lost treasures on the house of honey facebook page. So please don't 'borrow' from lost property unless you lost it.

Please leave the STRAW BALES where we put them!

PETS - are not allowed
