At 14, in the 70's, Julie ran away to the disco with a gang of Drag Queens and freaks. Dancing at Bang on a Monday and The Embassy the rest of the time, where she invented the 'Spunky Kicker' cocktail. From 17 she played bass (and scratchy violin) in a band called Bona Dish. John Peel was a fan. They released an album in 2018 in NYC. Starting Djing in the youth club with a stack of 45's, Julie played the music she still loves; Funk, Disco, Breaks and anything a bit dirty. Alongside managing a Brixton recording studio, she went on tour with bands for years in various guises, creating the 'Golden Delicious' party with Sephie and a bunch of the girls in 1994 on a weekend off the global Depeche Mode tour where she was getting them dressed and organising back-stage parties. GD was a bit more fluffy. Falling in love with 30 people in Club Ifield Road (Ben & Kate's) in the early 90's changed her life. They've since made a few more mates and still hang out together, playing music and dancing. Golden Delicious is still going and she still hasn't left the disco...why fix it if it ain't broken? - She'll DJ anywhere they'll let her have a go; Golden Delicious, Kimberley, Give, Bestival . . .
