It was during a drum and bass explosion circa 1994 that Jay started DJing, narrowly avoiding the grunge music his peers were listening to, thanks to his Dad's mix tapes! Armed with a pair of belt driven turntables he began the arduous task of learning how to mix. It took a while . . . and not helped by the fact that he also liked to go out and listen the music he would play, sneaking into clubs like 'Lost' and 'Sex, Love and Motion' at a tender age. Many hours were spent at Soho record shop counters rather than at school desks, in shops like Quaff, Vinyl Junkies and Fat Cat.
Heavily influenced by US house and techno from Detroit, Philly, Chicago and California from artists such as Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Derrick May, DJ Heather and Derrick Carter. Also, digging the German house scene right now with DJs such as Henrik Schwarz and Dixon.
Gigs over the past years include the festivals Kimberley, Winterwell and Womad. Parties and venues include House of Honey, Megatripolis, Save the Rhino, Peg, Cafe del Mar and many more up and down the UK and internationally including the Phillipines and Spain.
